Phish Phan

Phish is going to Knoxville!!!!!!!! And guess what, M got tickets for us to go. It's on June 10th, the last day of school, but I'm going to be leaving early because this is my chance to see one of the best bands ever and see my best friend, M. It was at M's house when I first heard farmhouse and I instantly loved it. Another early song listened too was Dirt. The first chords in the song send chills up my spine every time I hear it. Right now in English I had to choose a poem/lyrics to annotate and I choose the lyrics to dirt.

Washed ashore.....Washed ashore....

I'd like to live beneath the dirt

A tiny space to move and breathe is all that I would ever need
I wanna live beneath the dirt
Where I'd be free from push and shove like all those swarming up above
Beneath their heals I'll spend my time....

Shout your name into the wind......

I'll wiggle in the earth and dew
Shout your name into the wind.......

And sometimes I will think of you

Shout your name into the wind.....

And if you ever think of me kneel down and
kiss the earth and show me what this thought is worth

I'll never hear your voice again
Shot your name into the wind.....

When I first heard this song I thought it was about death, but I found a new meaning to the song. It's about being fed up with every one around you and being tired of the "push and shove" of life, and kind of wanting to just crawl into a hole and get away from everyone, although there would be someone you would leave behind and you would hope that they would remember you and not forget about you and think about you from time to time because you would think of them often.
